About the role

This role offers a unique opportunity to design a procurement strategy from the ground up and contribute to the ongoing success and growth of Compliance Group Limited.

Compliance Group Limited (CGL) is a leading provider of compliance services in the Built Environment, covering Electrical, Fire, and Water divisions. As a Private Equity-backed buy-and-build project, CGL has completed fourteen acquisitions in the last three years, operating as ten separate companies with a total revenue run-rate of approximately £35m. CGL is now hiring its first Group Procurement Manager in a major Transformation Programme.

Responsibilities

  • Analyse spending across the group to identify strategic procurement opportunities.
  • Address immediate needs while developing a medium-term plan for purchasing synergies.
  • Develop strategic and operational plans for vehicle ownership, leasing, and other corporate services.
  • Create fulfilment processes leveraging field management systems to minimize stocking points.
  • Conduct tender processes and negotiate contracts for corporate services and industrial components.
  • Maintain long-term relationships with key suppliers.
  • Set up scalable structures for rapidly implementing group arrangements in new acquisitions.
  • Build strong relationships with operational managers to position Procurement as a value-added resource.

Requirements

  • A clear understanding of effective procurement practices, preferably in a large company setting.
  • Hands-on procurement and supplier management experience in corporate services and industrial products.
  • Proven ability to manage conflicting priorities with a self-starting attitude.
  • Experience in setting up a procurement function from scratch or operating during fundamental change.
  • Strong communication skills across various stakeholders.

Desirable:

  • Experience in managing Procurement in a multi-subsidiary environment.
  • Experience in a Private Equity-owned business.
