Responsibilities

• Installing/maintaining fire detection and emergency lighting systems
• Works will vary from minor alterations to larger installations
• Carrying out repairs to these systems and assisting other engineers as required
• Providing emergency call-out cover when requested
• Documenting all defects noted during routine maintenance for follow-up works
• Representing Alpha to the customer. Liaising with them on installations and developing good working relationships
• Ensure that protective clothing is functional and aligned with the company’s image.

Requirements

• At least six months experience in Conventional Fire Detection Systems and Analogue Addressable Systems. Good working knowledge of BS 5839-1:2017
• Must have full UK driving licence.

Training will be provided where required/role dependent – but the following would be considered highly advantageous:

• City & Guilds 186 – Fire and Security Systems.
• F.I.A. (Fire Industry Association) / Installation / Commissioning or similar.
• CCNSG or equivalent
• Asbestos awareness
• Silica Awareness
• Manual handling
• Ladder training
• IPAF
• PASMA
